You may remember I wrote about the search for Foley cups. Since they are out of business, finding those measuring cups was not easy. And now we've lost both of the 1/8 cups. The handle on one cup just flat fell off, and this one didn't survive a close encounter with the disposal.
Alas, poor measuring cup! |

A week ago when I saw a set of measuring cups at the Kroger, I picked them up and put them in my cart. I'd been thinking about that since your post about this kind of measuring cup, which I also had and we've lost half the set. Other people buy kitchen gadgets, I've been thinking. It's not like they have to come from somewhere mysterious. The new ones aren't as good, but they'll work.
Are your new ones metal? That's what I really want, metal and without overly long/large handles.
No, the new ones are plastic. I literally got the first ones I saw because I don't ever think of buying such things, but the metal ones are missing so many, I was getting tired of having to do so much addition every time I tried to bake.
I have those! Or, I have some of two sets of four.
But I also have a lovely and sturdier set that I think came from Sur La Table - short handles, no welding. They are the kind that will last forever.

Those are pretty sweet! My best friend got me some really nice ones for Christmas (didn't realize she read my blog!) which was really cool of her. But I like those a lot too.
