I ran four miles this morning in Boston, where it's pretty humid today. This run was my second run here and I figured it would be a more typical run in terms of traffic, and other runners--I ran on Sunday which is already a different sort of day plus it was a holiday weekend.
What I noticed the most today (aside from the flatness of the run) was that I was the only person running without some sort of MP3 player. I don't understand running with music--I want to hear the traffic so I don't get squished, and I tend to always run in tempo to any music I hear, and that would really bug me.
I wish I understood the allure of running with music.

let's see, it's boring without music? That's probably the reason, that and the sound of traffic isn't all that pleasant (aside from the non-squish factor!)
